Apply Lip Liner Like Pro

Keep the liner blunt

Don’t sharp your liner pencil to that extremely thin point if you want to prevent your line from looking unnatural. Keeping the lip liner point a bit blunt will help you draw lining that can blend seamlessly with the lipstick.

Hold your liner right

Makeup professionals recommend holding liner pencil at 45° angle. Don’t give excessive pressure else it will give you jagged lines. Keep the pressure minimum while wearing lip liner. Repeat short strokes with a light hand for 2-3 times.

Prepare a base

No, lip liner isn’t just to line up your lips. Instead, use it to form a base for your lipstick. Spread the liner gently on lips to create an ultra-thin layer of color. There are a few gains of this approach. Your lipstick will last longer. And your application won’t look patchy.

Create an ‘X’

Draw an ‘X’ right at the Cupid’s bow using your lip liner. And stretch the upper X lines towards the corners of your lips. Now create a tiny arc in the center of your bottom lip. Now draw lines from both ends of the arc such that it ends at the corner of your lip. This technique will help you highlight your Cupid’s bow in a prominent manner. And it’s a trick to that perfect sexy-looking pout!

The nude liner works best!

You may think – there is no point of applying lip liner if it has no visible color, but many of your favorite celebs are already rocking nude liners like a boss. A nude liner will not be visible of course, but it will help you avoid color bleeding and blur edges. What’s more, when your lip color is worn away, your lips won’t be left with a line around the edges.
